Dr. Sergiy Rakhmayil

Biography

Sergiy Rakhmayil is an Associate Professor in the Finance Department at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Manitoba in 2006 and has been teaching since 2005. Rakhmayil's research focuses on international finance, asset valuation, corporate finance, and financial distress. He explores the effects of political events on financial markets and shareholder activism as a means of corporate control. He has published numerous research papers in reputable journals and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Business Economics. Rakhmayil is committed to professional development and has attended various courses at institutions such as the London School of Economics and the University of Pennsylvania. He has extensive teaching experience, both in traditional classroom settings and online, and is known for his student-centric approach, enhancing student performance and satisfaction. Rakhmayil actively engages graduate students interested in research in international finance and corporate finance and is involved with the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, supervising multiple graduate programs.
