Serguei Cherednichenko is a professor at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. Born in Mariupol, Ukraine, he received his Diploma with Honours in Physics from Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute in 1993 and obtained his PhD degree in radio physics from Moscow State Pedagogical University in 1999. Cherednichenko has worked as a lecturer in general experimental physics at Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute from 1993 to 1995 and has held roles as a visiting scientist at both Chalmers University and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK. His research focuses on terahertz millimetre wave heterodyne receivers, RF measurements, optical X-ray detectors, antennas, and the physical properties of materials at millimetre wave THz frequencies. He has contributed to the development of terahertz mixers for the Herschel Space Observatory and multipixel terahertz receivers for the European Space Agency, publishing over 20 peer-reviewed scientific articles and around 40 conference papers, including two invited presentations.
