Seth joined the University of Edinburgh as a lecturer in finance in 1989, having previously worked as a credit analyst and lending officer in merchant banks. He teaches a wide range of finance courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and MSc levels. In 2002, he moved to Heriot-Watt University, where he established the MSc Finance program and became the Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance. He rejoined the University of Edinburgh in 2007 and has served as the Director of MSc Finance from 2007 to 2011 and Head of the Accounting and Finance Group from 2010 to 2015. His current teaching and research interests center mainly on corporate finance. He holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Oxford, an MPhil in Philosophy of Mind from St Andrews, and a PhD in Finance from Edinburgh. Seth is an associate editor of the European Journal of Finance and is the author of "Cost of Capital: Intermediate Theory" (Cambridge University Press, 2005). He is interested in supervising PhD students in the area of corporate finance.
