Biography

Seth Bullock is the Toshiba Chair in Data Science and Simulation at the University of Bristol. He obtained a BA in Cognitive Science and a DPhil in evolutionary simulation modeling from the University of Sussex. His career includes time at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, where he focused on simulating evolution and adaptive decision-making behavior. In 1999, he began a University Research Fellowship at the University of Leeds, where he established the Biosystems research group and served as a lecturer until 2004. He later joined the University of Southampton as a Senior Lecturer, contributing to the founding of the Science Engineering Natural Systems (SENSe) research group, where he became head in 2009 and was promoted to Professor of Computer Science in 2011. At Southampton, he also helped establish the Agents, Interaction and Complexity research group. In 2015, he joined the University of Bristol, expanding his research into intelligent systems and complex systems simulation.
