Biography

Seth J. Kligerman, MD, is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist and a professor in the Department of Radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He is the division chief of Cardiothoracic Imaging at UC San Diego Health, specializing in interpreting imaging studies related to various thoracic and cardiac diseases. His research focuses on the pathogenesis of fibrotic lung disease, the application of low-dose CT imaging, and advanced CT reconstruction techniques for infiltrative cardiomyopathies. He has also explored the correlation between disease status inferred through imaging studies and tissue pathology reports. Over the past 14 years, Dr. Kligerman has published more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has become a nationally and internationally respected leader in cardiac and thoracic imaging. He currently serves as Deputy Editor for Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging and Associate Deputy Editor for Radiographics. Dr. Kligerman is also heavily involved in educational activities, sharing his expertise as a lecturer for the American Institute of Radiologic Pathology. Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2017, he held the position of associate professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
