Biography

Seth Lerer is a Distinguished Professor in the Literature Department at the University of California, San Diego, where he has been a faculty member since January 2009. His teaching and research focus on Medieval and Renaissance Literature, as well as the history of the English language and children’s literature. Lerer has a particular interest in Shakespeare and classical texts. During the academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22, he served as the Director of the Center for Hellenic Studies and the Director of the Program in Classics at UCSD.
