Biography

Seung-Eun Chang earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Phonology and Phonetics. With over ten years of teaching experience at the University of California, Berkeley, she joined Georgia Tech in 2018. Her research interests include theoretical and experimental Phonology and Phonetics, as well as Korean Linguistics. Seung-Eun has published in influential linguistics journals such as the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Language and Speech, and the International Journal of Bilingualism. Her recent work focuses on content and language integrated learning, and she is the author of "Media, Culture, Debate Korean" (2022). She has received multiple grants for her Media Curation project, including funding for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years and the 2022-2023 IAC Student Service Funding. Seung-Eun teaches courses ranging from Elementary to Advanced Korean and specialized topics in Korean culture and media, including K-Pop and contemporary issues in Korea.
