Seung-Kyum Choi is an Associate Professor at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. He earned his Ph.D. from Wright State University in 2006 and has a strong background in research related to uncertainty quantification techniques for complex engineered systems. His research interests encompass Computer-Aided Engineering, Mechanics, Materials, additive manufacturing, robust design, modeling uncertainty, probabilistic mechanics, and multidisciplinary optimization. Choi's current work focuses on the development of robust simulation and decision-support tools designed to manage complex engineered systems, particularly in relation to the design of additively manufactured parts. He is also the Director of the Center for Additive Manufacturing Systems (CAMS), where he oversees the development of research and educational programs in the field. Choi has received several awards including the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2009 and a Young Researcher Fellowship at M.I.T. in computational mechanics. He is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
