Biography

Severin Schneebeli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Purdue University. His research focuses on organic synthesis and industrial molecular pharmaceutics, with a particular interest in developing methods to manufacture, stabilize, and deliver biopharmaceuticals. Dr. Schneebeli's lab is at the forefront of creating affinity reagents, which are artificial antibodies, and catalysts that function like artificial enzymes, employing unique macromolecular scaffolds to address contemporary challenges in chemical biology. The lab incorporates multiscale computer modeling alongside hands-on synthesis to design and test functional systems, exemplified by their work on robust molecular tetrahedra that can size-selectively functionalize polymer chains. He is committed to providing interdisciplinary experiences to graduate, undergraduate, and professional students in the fields of industrial physical pharmacy, supramolecular chemistry, and materials characterization.
