Dr. Sewon Kang

Biography

Sewon Kang is a prominent dermatologist and the Noxell Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, as well as the Dermatologist-in-Chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has made significant contributions to dermatology, especially in the fields of skin pharmacology and photomedicine. Dr. Kang is the founder and co-director of the Cutaneous Translational Research Program, and he has authored over 240 publications, including papers and book chapters. He is also known for his editorial contributions, including serving as Editor-in-Chief for the 9th edition of Fitzpatrick's Dermatology. With a strong focus on clinical expertise in photomedicine, skin cancer, and ethnic skin, he has made impactful presentations worldwide and has been active in various dermatological societies as a past president and board member.
