Biography

Seyed Mohammad Taghavi holds the Canada Research Chair in Modeling of Complex Flows and is currently a full professor at Université Laval. He obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2011. Taghavi has approximately three years of postdoctoral experience studying complex flows at UBC, the University of Michigan, and McGill University, where he held the Banting and Tomlinson postdoctoral fellowships. His research interests focus on complex flows, fluid mechanics, interfacial flows, hydrodynamic stability, and non-Newtonian fluid mechanics. He has received numerous awards/grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, and others. He is co-author of over 100 publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals addressing various fluid flow problems.
