Biography

Seyran Khademi is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at Delft University of Technology, where he co-directs the AiDAPT lab, focusing on AI Design, Analysis, and Optimization in the Architecture and Built Environment. He is an interdisciplinary researcher combining the fields of Computer Vision and Architecture. His research interests center on the intersection of Data, Computer Vision, and Deep Learning in the context of man-made imagery and architectural design. In 2020, he was honored as a research fellow at the Royal Library of the Netherlands, where he worked on visual recognition within children’s book collections. Prior to that, in 2017, he was appointed as a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Vision lab, contributing to the ArchiMediaL project, which aimed at automatic detection of architectural elements in visual data, particularly utilizing street-view imagery. Seyran earned his Ph.D. in signal processing and optimization in 2015 from TU Delft. His postdoctoral research involved Intelligent Audio and Speech algorithms. He holds an MSc degree in Signal Processing from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, acquired in 2010, and a BSc degree in Telecommunications from the University of Tabriz in Iran.
