Professor Dr. Shabnam Asghari

Biography

Shabnam Asghari is a Professor in the Primary Healthcare Research Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is a highly regarded Epidemiologist with a focus on Medical Geography, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, and Population Health. Asghari has an extensive academic background including a Doctor of Medicine degree from Arak University of Medical Sciences, a Master of Public Health, and a PhD in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at Tehran University. She additionally completed a post-doctoral fellowship in a research group at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sherbrooke. With a commitment to interdisciplinary research, she encourages graduate student candidates interested in pursuing M.Sc. or Ph.D. degrees in Epidemiology and Medical Geography.
