Biography

Shahar Lavi received a BSc and MD from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Rambam Medical Centre in Haifa, Israel. Lavi subsequently undertook a research clinical fellowship in Coronary Physiology, Imaging, and Interventional Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He also completed a Clinical Research Training Program at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. In 2008, he completed a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Toronto General Hospital. Currently, Lavi serves as an Associate Professor at Western University in the Department of Medicine, and he is an Associate Scientist at the London Health Research Institute. He is the Director of Cardiovascular Interventional Research at the London Health Sciences Centre. His research focuses on coronary artery disease, myocardial protection, and endothelial function.
