Dr. Shaheen Dewji

Biography

Shaheen Dewji is an Associate Professor and Woodruff Faculty Fellow at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She oversees the Radiological Engineering, Detection, and Dosimetry (RED²) research group. Dewji's academic background includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Nuclear Radiological Engineering from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Physics from the University of British Columbia. Her research areas encompass Nuclear and Radiological Engineering, with a focus on computational dosimetry, radiation detection, and nuclear safety and security policy. Dewji has previously served at Texas A&M University and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she worked on various projects related to nuclear material measurement, radiation safety, and nonproliferation policies. Her contributions have been recognized by several professional organizations, and she is actively involved with the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine's Nuclear Radiation Studies Board.
