Biography

Shahriar Sajjadi obtained Bachelor's (BEng) and Master's (MSc) degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Amirkabir, Tehran in 1982 and 1985 respectively. His Bachelor's degree project was on multi-objective optimization in petrochemical industries using linear programming under the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). In 1987, he joined the Iran Polymer Institute, where he conducted research studies in polymerization technologies, focusing on the theoretical and experimental aspects of polymerization reactions. He completed his PhD on particle formation and growth in emulsion polymerization reactions at Loughborough University, England, in 1998. Following his doctoral studies, he spent a couple of years as a post-doctoral research fellow at both Loughborough University and King's College London. In 2003, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Division of Engineering at King's College London. His research interests include polymerizations in dispersed media, mathematical modeling, and synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles.
