Biography

Shamir Mehta is a Senior Clinical Teacher and Programme Director for the MSc Aesthetic Dentistry at King's College London, where he has been teaching since 2006. He graduated with a Dentistry degree with Distinction from King's College London in 1996 and earned a BSc in Biomedical Sciences with First Class Honours in 1993. He serves as a Senior Clinical Advisor at the General Dental Council, managing the Clinical Dental Advisory Team, and contributes as a Visiting Professor (PhD supervisor) at RadboudUMC. Additionally, he chairs the Careers Pathways Reference Group at the College of General Dentistry and is the Editorial Director for Aesthetic Update. Dr. Mehta has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and co-authored textbooks related to tooth wear and aesthetic dentistry. His research focuses on the management of tooth wear and its impacts on quality of life, with extensive involvement in international lectures and conferences.
