Biography

Shane Latham is a Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Physics at the Australian National University. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from ANU in 2000. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a software engineer at the University of Queensland, focusing on computational earthquake modeling. Since joining the Department of Materials Physics in 2011, Dr. Latham has applied his expertise in computational software to tackle problems related to X-ray tomography, image processing, and image registration. In 2017, he became a member of the Smartlight industry project, further contributing to the integration of theoretical and practical applications in his field.
