Biography

Shanjun Li is a professor of applied economics and public policy, holding the Kenneth L. Robinson Chair at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. He serves as the faculty director of the Cornell Institute for China Economic Research (CICER) and is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a university fellow at Resources for the Future (RFF). His research focuses on environmental and energy economics, urban transportation economics, empirical industrial organization, and the Chinese economy. Key publications include studies on how gasoline prices affect fleet fuel economy, the implications of gasoline taxes on consumer behavior, and the efficiency of local government service provision. He has taught courses in econometrics and environmental economics at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
