Shannon Yee is a Professor at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He directs the Scalable Thermal Energy Engineering Laboratory, developing innovative solutions such as organic thermoelectrics and thermophotovoltaics, while also addressing fundamental scientific questions in the field. He is recognized for his work on polymer thermoelectrics and thermal switches. In 2021, he was named a Bill Gates Hero in the field for his contributions to the Generation II Reinvent Toilet program supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
