Biography

Dr. Jiang completed his PhD in Molecular Cellular Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and received postdoctoral training at UAB and the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center (OUHSC). He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine, where he focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms linking inflammation and energy metabolism in the context of developmental origins of obesity and obesity-related metabolic disorders. His research projects are currently funded by an NIH R01 grant and a Yale Diabetes Research Center Pilot grant. His main research interests include studying the pathways involved in diabetes and obesity, particularly the crosstalk between macrophages, microRNAs, and adipose stem cells during the regulation of brown/beige adipogenesis. He is also exploring the effects of maternal obesity on fetal development and the long-term health of offspring, known as the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DoHaD). His work aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of DoHaD and develop new therapeutic options for the early prevention of metabolic diseases.
