Biography

Shaoying Huang is an Associate Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, where he also leads the BioMed-EM Lab, which focuses on innovative solutions in biomedical engineering. He holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Huang is recognized for his pioneering work in the development of low-field portable MRI technology, aimed at making MRI more accessible. He has organized notable events like the MRI hackathon ezyMRI NerdFest and currently serves on various committees, including the program committee for the ISMRM Annual Meeting. He has co-founded a deeptech company that specializes in portable MRI solutions. Huang has a rich portfolio of 10 patents and more than 60 refereed journal articles, alongside over 160 international conference presentations. His ongoing research efforts concentrate on low-field portable MRI systems and associated technologies, particularly in hardware and AI applications, among other advanced biomedical sensing methodologies.
