Biography

Shari Boodts is an Assistant Professor of Medieval History at Radboud University. She specializes in the transmission of texts through medieval manuscripts, exploring how collective cultural heritage has shaped and influenced the textual transmission during the medieval period. Her current research focuses on the dissemination of late-antique Latin sermons during the Middle Ages and includes case studies primarily from early Christian literature, particularly the sermons of Augustine of Hippo. As a Principal Investigator for an ERC Starting Grant, her projects aim for a productive synergy between textual criticism and digital manuscript studies, alongside interests in heritage policy and open access principles. Boodts was awarded the KNAW Early Career Award in 2020 and is a member of the Dutch Young Academy. Her research contributes significantly to understanding medieval textual transmission and cultural heritage. She has also been involved in various research grants, including the ALANUS project and mechanisms of canon formation.
