Dr. Sharinne Crawford

Biography

Sharinne Crawford is a Senior Research Fellow at the SPHERE Centre for Research Excellence, Department of General Practice at Monash University. She is the Project Manager for the Australian Government-funded Endometriosis Management Plan (Endo-MP) project, where she leads a team of researchers to develop and implement a management plan that improves the diagnosis and management of endometriosis-related pelvic pain in general practice contexts. With expertise in qualitative research, Sharinne is passionate about improving healthcare for women, particularly those suffering from endometriosis, emphasizing the importance of women's voices and experiences in her research. She completed her PhD at Deakin University, focusing on children’s independent mobility and physical activity. Her research interests extend to women's, children's, and family health, as well as ethics in public health. Sharinne has experience mentoring graduate research students and has worked in several universities as a sessional tutor. In addition to her role at Monash, she is also a Research Fellow at the Judith Lumley Centre, La Trobe University, where she researches issues concerning women, children, and family health. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at improving health and ensuring wellbeing for all.
