Biography

Sharon Lee, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Research Scientist at the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine at The Miriam Hospital. Her research focuses on the biobehavioral mechanisms linking stress to adverse physical health outcomes, particularly cardiovascular disease risk, and mind-body interventions aimed at disrupting these linkages. Dr. Lee's research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association, among other professional organizations. She serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of General Internal Medicine and is the Behavior Change Lead for the American Association of Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) Program Planning Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association in Southern New England. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Lee has cared for patients in various settings, including primary care, Veterans Affairs medical centers, and psychiatric hospitals, with specialization in behavioral medicine, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, oncology, organ transplant, palliative care, sleep medicine, and weight loss. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Southern California, an MA in Psychology from Columbia University, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
