Biography

Sharon Long serves as an Assistant Professor and the Assistant Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency at Dell Medical School, University of Texas. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida and has previously directed the toxicology rotation in the emergency medicine residency. Her greatest professional satisfaction comes from educating students and residents while collaborating with an excellent team of faculty. Dr. Long's academic interests include toxicology, palliative care, opioid and substance use disorder, and optimizing systems within the emergency department. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, biking, hiking, and appreciating the local music and food scenes in Austin, Texas.
