Biography

Sharon graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in Developmental Biology and pursued her PhD in Reproductive Medicine at the MRC Human Reproductive Sciences Unit in Edinburgh. She spent 7 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Manchester, specializing in infertility, stem cells, and cancer. Subsequently, she returned to the University of Glasgow as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, where she also serves as the Director of the MBChB2 Undergraduate Medical School and chairs the School of Medicine's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion committee. Sharon's academic focus includes assessment and standard setting in undergraduate medical curricula, with a commitment to enhancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. She is also involved in teaching undergraduate Embryology and Histology, and facilitates Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for first and second-year medical students. Sharon leads the Reproduction, Nephrology & Urology block in the MBChB2 program and tutors in Team-Based Learning (TBL) sessions.
