Professor Dr. Sharron Docherty

Biography

Sharron Lee Docherty is an Associate Professor at the Duke University School of Nursing. With a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, she specializes in research aimed at improving outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults, along with their families, who are undergoing treatment for life-limiting chronic conditions. Her research focuses on enhancing care models, symptom management, and decision-making processes during critical life events. Dr. Docherty employs qualitative and mixed-methods research along with trajectory science to visualize complex data for the development and testing of interventions. Her methodological expertise and dedication to advancing health equity have positioned her at the forefront of nursing research and education.
