Professor Dr. Sharyn Frawley

Biography

Sharyn Frawley is a qualified social worker with postgraduate qualifications in policy analysis and community sustainable development. She has worked extensively in social work practice across contexts such as child protection, reintegration services for individuals exiting prison, homelessness, and mental health research within both non-governmental and public sectors. With significant experience in family and domestic violence case management, advocacy, and outreach service management, Sharyn employs a blend of theoretical and practice-based frameworks, particularly Narrative Practices and Response-Based Practice, in her clinical work. She is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy program in the School of Allied Health at the University of Western Australia and is employed as a sessional academic, providing consultancy services to the family domestic violence sector. Sharyn trains staff in safe communication techniques, risk assessment, and safety planning while conducting program evaluation services.
