Dr. Sharyn O Halloran

Biography

Sharyn O'Halloran is a political scientist and economist at Columbia University, where she serves as the George Blumenthal Professor of Political Economics and a professor at the School of International and Public Affairs. Her extensive research focuses on political economy, international trade, finance, regulation, institutional reform, economic growth, democratic transitions, and political representation of minorities. O'Halloran earned her BA degree in economics and political science from the University of California, San Diego, followed by her MA and PhD from the same institution. Her work employs formal and quantitative methods to analyze the interrelations between politics, economics, and public policy. O'Halloran's publications include notable titles such as 'Politics, Process American Trade Policy' (University of Michigan Press), 'Delegating Powers' (Cambridge University Press), and 'Future Voting Rights Act' (Russell Sage Foundation), along with numerous journal articles published in leading academic outlets like the American Journal of Political Science and the American Political Science Review.
