Biography

Shaun Fleming is a clinical laboratory haematologist working in patient-facing clinical research in haematology. He completed his haematology training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital, and further qualifications at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. He completed a fellowship in Acute Leukaemia at Alfred Hospital. Shaun has led national studies in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), with an emphasis on delivering novel therapies to older adults. His research interests include Acute Leukaemia, the application of novel therapies, measurable residual disease (MRD), and the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence for developing prognostic scoring systems. Committed to training the next generation of researchers, Shaun supervises PhD students with a focus on clinical translational research related to Acute Leukaemia. He also serves as a lecturer in the MBBS course and consults for various pharmaceutical companies, including Amgen, AbbVie, and Novartis. His expertise aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly towards education and health in sustainable practices.
