Biography

Shauna Mallory-Hill, Associate Dean (Research) and Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Architecture, has over 25 years of experience in teaching and researching building systems, universal sustainable design, and building performance evaluation. Her major research focus is on how designed environments impact human health, wellness, and productivity. Shauna's current work includes indigenous community-led initiatives exploring pathways to quality affordable, sustainable housing. She has completed a study on ergonomic kitchen design for aging in place in collaboration with industry partners from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences. Shauna has presented her building evaluation work across Canada, the USA, and Europe, and has published in various journals and books. One of her notable contributions is the co-edited book with Christopher Watson and Wolfgang Preiser, which examines various aspects of building evaluation.
