Biography

Shaunak Bopardikar is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University, affiliated with the Center for Connected Autonomous Networked Vehicles Active Safety (CANVAS). His research interests focus on scalable computation optimization, cyber-physical security, and autonomous motion planning control. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and has several inventions filed with the U.S. Patent Office. Prior to his role at Michigan State, he worked as a staff research scientist in the Controls group at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) in East Hartford, CT. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at UC Santa Barbara where he developed randomized algorithms for solving large matrix games. Before that, he worked as an engineer at the General Electric India Technology Center in Bangalore, India. Bopardikar holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, an M.Tech. in Computer Aided Design Automation from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
