Biography

Shawn Blanton is the Associate Department Head and Joseph F. and Nancy Keithley Professor in the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He has received the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation and IBM Faculty Partnership Awards. Blanton has delivered over a hundred talks at various prestigious universities and companies, including Stanford, Yale, Texas A&M, Duke, and Purdue. He has served on technical program committees for major conferences such as the IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference and the IEEE VLSI Test Symposium, and has been an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design. With over a hundred published refereed conference and journal papers and seven patents, Blanton is a fellow of IEEE and a senior member of ACM. He was the program chair for the International Test Conference in 2011. Blanton completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan in 1995, an MS from the University of Arizona in 1989, and a BS in Engineering from Calvin College in 1989.
