Shawn Lee's research interests focus on examining how air pollution exposure during pregnancy affects adverse birth outcomes. He is developing methodologies to analyze health impacts related to indoor air pollution and health impact assessments. His PhD research aims to enhance evidence synthesis practices related to the risks of gestational air pollution exposure and preterm birth. This project is part of Imperial College London's Transition Zero Pollution Initiative, funded by the National Institute for Health Research Health Protection Research Unit in Environmental Exposures and Health, and is supervised by Dr. Heather Walton, Dr. Rachel Smith, and Dr. Karen Exley. Shawn completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at St George’s, University of London. In 2018, he joined Imperial College London to pursue a Master of Public Health (Global Health) degree. During his studies, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant specializing in Participatory Approaches in Public Health within Imperial’s Global Master of Public Health Programme.
