Dr. Shawna Klahn

Biography

Shawna Klahn is an Associate Professor of Oncology in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. She specializes in Medical Oncology and has extensive training and experience in the field. Dr. Klahn completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison followed by a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, also from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She furthered her education through a residency program at Michigan State University. Klahn has held several positions in academia, including Associate Professor at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, where she has served since 2018. Prior to this, she was a Medical Oncologist at Upstate Veterinary Specialists, accumulating over a decade of clinical experience. As a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, she is dedicated to advancing the field of veterinary oncology through education and research.
