Biography

Shefali Khanna is a Newcleo Fellow in Energy Economics Policy at the London School of Economics (LSE). Her research interests encompass energy economics, environmental economics, and policy, with a focus on understanding the drivers of the adoption of clean energy technologies and sustainable practices. She evaluates the design and impact of climate policies, particularly in the context of the Global South. Previously, Shefali served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Business School, Imperial College London. She earned her PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University, where she also worked as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow in the Harvard Environmental Economics Program and as a PhD Student Affiliate with the Evidence for Policy Design Center in International Development. Before her PhD, she was a Research Assistant at Resources for the Future and received her BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her selected publications include a study on the long-run value of electricity reliability in India, highlighting her significant contributions to the field of energy policy and economics.
