Dr. Shehan Hettiaratchy

Biography

Mr. Shehan Hettiaratchy is a consultant plastic and hand reconstructive surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He graduated from Oxford University in 1994 and has since trained in various locations including London, Birmingham, and Australia, where he refined his skills in microsurgery and aesthetic surgery. He has been a consultant since 2009 and specializes in hand and wrist surgery for both adults and children, complex extremity reconstruction, and the management of major trauma. His extensive research background includes a Doctorate of Medicine from Oxford and a three-year research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His notable achievements include receiving the Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons and the Pulvertaft Prize from the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. Mr. Hettiaratchy is actively involved in research focusing on major trauma outcomes and limb reconstruction.
