Biography

Sheldon Kamienny is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the University of Southern California. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Harvard University in January 1981. His academic career includes a tenure as a Research Professor at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute during 1993 to 1994 and being a recipient of the Sloan Research Fellowship from 1991 to 1994. Kamienny also had a residency at the Institute for Advanced Study from 1983 to 1984. His research interests are primarily focused on arithmetic geometry, algebraic curves, abelian varieties, and modular forms.
