Biography

Sheldon Mark Ross is the Daniel J. Epstein Chair Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Brooklyn College in 1963, followed by a Master's degree in Mathematics from Purdue University in 1964, and a Doctoral degree in Statistics from Stanford University in 1968. Dr. Ross's career includes serving as a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1976 until his transition to USC in 2004. He has contributed significantly to his field as an Editor for Probability Engineering and Informational Sciences, as well as an Advisory Editor for the International Journal of Quality Technology and Quantitative Management, and holds an editorial board position for the Journal of Bond Trading Management. His research interests include applied probability models, financial engineering, simulation, and stochastic dynamic programming, and he is the author of numerous titles including 'Introduction to Mathematical Finance: Options Topics' and others.
