Shelley Z. Reuter is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University, where she has been employed since 2003. She received her PhD from Queen's University in 2001, after which she held faculty positions at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Queen’s University. Her research focuses on the intersections of medicine and society, with particular attention to themes such as motherhood, childlessness, risk, and responsibilization. Currently, she is undertaking a qualitative study of health clinic wellness promotion messaging in the Canadian campus context and is writing a book on motherhood and holocaust survival. Reuter is committed to teaching and mentoring students at both graduate and undergraduate levels in areas such as Contemporary Theory, Contemporary Feminist Thought, Sociology of Health, Illness, and Medicine, as well as honouary seminars.
