Dr. Shelli Farhadian

Biography

Shelli Farhadian, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at Yale School of Medicine. She is also affiliated with the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. Dr. Farhadian focuses her research on neurological complications associated with systemic infections, including those related to HIV and COVID-19. After earning her MD from Weill Cornell Medical College and her PhD from Rockefeller University, she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a fellowship in infectious diseases at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Farhadian's clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of infections, including HIV, Lyme disease, and syphilis, with an additional emphasis on managing neurological infections. Through collaborative efforts with specialists in neurology, geriatrics, and public health, she employs a cross-disciplinary approach to advance her research. Her significant contributions to the field are evidenced by her numerous publications and citations, reflecting her commitment to understanding the complexities of infections in the central nervous system.
