Biography

Shenam Ticku is an Assistant Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, specializing in Oral Health Policy Epidemiology. Ticku serves as the pre-doctoral discipline director for the Oral Health Policy Epidemiology program. In the 2024-2025 academic year, she will be a Rabkin Fellow in Medical Education. Her research is centered on medical-dental integration, policy reform, and training. She has been a co-investigator for the federally funded Center for Integration of Primary Care and Oral Health (CIPCOH), where she assessed the integration of oral health into primary care training. In addition, she is the co-principal investigator on a project examining the behavioral health and social determinants of health within dental workforce training, focusing on the feasibility of integrating mental health screenings in dental settings. Ticku is also the principal investigator of the 100 Million Mouths Campaign, a national initiative aimed at enhancing the oral health competencies of the primary care workforce. She has led multiple studies under the HSDM's Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine, which seeks to advance interprofessional collaboration in oral health care. Ticku holds a Master of Public Health in health policy from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from J.S.S Dental College Hospital in Mysore, India.
