Sheng C. Dai is an Associate Professor and Group Coordinator in Geosystems Engineering at Georgia Tech. He earned his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech in 2013 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Energy Technology Laboratory under the Department of Energy from 2013 to 2015 before returning to Georgia Tech as a faculty member in 2015. His research focuses on resilience, sustainability, energy, and the natural environment, specifically in energy geotechnics and nature-inspired engineering, with funding from government agencies including the DOE, NSF, NASA, and industry. He serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth and holds several advisory board positions. His work has garnered numerous accolades, including recognition as a CAREER Award recipient from NSF in 2020 and involvement in various research programs.
