Biography

Shengrong Bu received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Computer Engineering from Carleton University, Canada, and he holds a Master’s degree in Research in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wollongong, Australia. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He has an extensive research background, having worked as an NSERC Industrial R&D Fellow at Huawei Technologies Canada Inc. in 2012-2014. Before joining Brock University, he served as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow, UK, from 2014 to 2021. At Brock University, he is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering. He has also received several prestigious paper awards at IEEE International Conferences. His professional activities include serving as a peer reviewer for the EPSRC and Carnegie Trust, and he is an Associate Editor for Wireless Networks as well as a Topic Editor for Energies. His research interests encompass multi-vector energy microgrids, smart grids, future wireless networks, wireless network security, deep reinforcement learning, big data analytics, game theory, and healthcare applications.
