Biography

Shengwang Du is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University. He earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2005. Prior to that, he obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2002, a Master's degree in Physics from Peking University in 1999, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanjing University in 1996. Du's research encompasses a range of topics in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics, including Quantum Optics, Quantum Networks, Quantum Computing, and Optical Neural Networks, as well as applications in Bioimaging. He has received numerous accolades for his work, including being named a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2019 and a Fellow of Optica in the same year.
