Professor Dr. Sheri Longboat

Biography

Sheri Longboat is a Haudenosaunee Mohawk and band member of the Six Nations of the Grand River with twenty years of experience working with Indigenous communities in Canada. Her love for water-related activities has eventually led to an interest in water security governance. Her research is inspired by Indigenous people, and she works to preserve and maintain their customs, traditions, languages, and practices. Longboat focuses on utilizing relationships and experiences from her personal passion to perform applied research that bridges Indigenous Nations, communities, government, and industry partners to address the pressing challenges faced by Indigenous populations in Canada.
