Biography

Sherie M. Randolph is an associate professor of history at Georgia Institute of Technology and serves as the co-director of the Black Feminist Think Tank. Her acclaimed book, Florynce “Flo” Kennedy: Life of a Black Feminist Radical, explores the interconnections between the Black Power movement, civil rights, and leftist feminist movements. She has also held the position of Associate Director at the Women’s Research & Resource Center at Spelman College, throughout which she has received various grants and fellowships. Notably, these include recognition from Emory University’s James Weldon Johnson Center and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Currently, she is focused on researching and authoring a new book titled 'Free African American Women Political Exiles in Cuba.' Her teaching encompasses social movements, black feminist theory, gender, race, incarceration, Black Power, and African American history, alongside women’s history. Randolph offers courses such as Women & Gender in the U.S., African American History since 1865, the Civil Rights Movement, and various seminar topics in both History and Sociology.
