Biography

Sherilyn Houle is an Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on the roles, outcomes, and uptake of pharmacy practice, particularly in relation to clinical areas such as immunizations and travel health. Dr. Houle is involved in continuing professional development programs on various topics including injection technique, vaccine hesitancy, and vaccine-preventable diseases such as influenza. She actively coordinates the injections and immunizations training curriculum in the PharmD program and is researching the impact of pharmacy-based immunization services on vaccination rates and health system costs. Her professional memberships include the Ontario Pharmacists Association and the International Society of Travel Medicine, among others. In 2014, she completed her PhD in Experimental Medicine at the University of Alberta and has received numerous awards for her research and mentorship in pharmacy education.
