Biography

Dr. Devine earned her BA in psychology from DePauw University, an MA, and a PhD in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She completed a clinical internship at the Boston VA Medical Center/Tufts University Consortium and a three-year postdoctoral program in clinical neuropsychology, providing services to veterans and civilians with a wide range of neurological and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Devine has worked in research settings and intermittently in clinical settings, focused on evaluating individuals with various cognitive disorders, particularly within the geriatric population. In 1999, she began her role as a clinical neuropsychologist with the Framingham Heart Study (FHS), enhancing research into cognitive functioning. Over the years, she has collaborated with Dr. Rhoda Au to apply the Boston Process Approach (BPA), which incorporates qualitative aspects of cognitive test performance. Her research interests include cognitive biomarkers and the identification of dementia risk through innovative methods like digital data capture. Dr. Devine is also committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in research, especially in brain aging studies, and has undertaken initiatives to empower underrepresented researchers and expand participant diversity in studies related to Alzheimer's disease.
